Overview

Summary:
The purpose of this position is to conduct technical audits in the Aerospace industry. This position requires a high degree of technical expertise in non destructive testing along with commensurate experience in a manufacturing environment. We are only accepting applications for those that are a US Citizen or Green Card holder.  

Responsibilities

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Working collaboratively with key PRI staff and customers to organize audit schedules that meet the needs of all stakeholders (5%)
• Liaising with PRI’s preferred travel agency to organize a cost-effective travel schedule (5%)
• Ensuring adequate pre-audit preparation including contacting the company ahead of time and reviewing documentation provided by the company (5%)
• Conducting the technical audit, and associated quality system audit, when necessary, based on an industry-approved checklist and customer requirements, by reviewing customer flow down documents including purchase orders, drawings, and specifications, reviewing procedures, work instructions, training records, and other internal documentation, and observing real part processing to ensure that the documented requirements are properly flowed down to and implemented on the shop floor (65%)
• Submitting timely and complete audit reports in which any audit findings are clearly and logically documented (10%)
• Participating in auditor conferences and assigned training (5%)
• Serving as a Training Auditor when required (5%)

Qualifications

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

• Strong Aerospace Industry experience (including aerospace quality assurance systems)
• Qualified to Level 3 (or equivalent) in at least 4 NDT methods: Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, Film Radiography, Eddy Current, Digital Detector Array, Computed Radiology
• An excellent understanding of NAS410/EN4179, NANDTBs and NDT Standards
• Eight (8) years of technical experience in NDT
• Field Auditing Experience
• Ability to operate a Computer, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Commitment to preserving the integrity of the programs, maintaining strict confidentiality, and to avoiding all conflicts of interest.
• Expertise in the technology
• Willingness to travel and conduct audits domestic and internationally
• Written and oral proficiency in the English language
• Strong interpersonal skill
• Professional behavior

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF THE WORKPLACE:

• Ability to travel 60% of the time
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (shop floor)
• Ability to work for long periods at a computer/desk
• Obtain necessary shots/vaccines as required for travel
